Wedged In

Wendy Brandes recently did a “casting call” for bloggers who own wedged sneakers (post here).  I sent her a couple of shots of just my Marc Jacobs wedged espadrille heeled sneakers, but I know she wanted a head-to-toe shot (hopefully she was able to use them).  I love these shoes so much because the heels are just high enough to be comfortable.  Believe it or not, they are show stoppers and I get asked about them every time I wear them.  They are a couple of years old, so I’m not sure if you can get these anywhere (I bought them off of eBay).

Below are a couple of detail shots of my awesome black leather MAC with gunmetal hardware (and a bright blue zipper) and a close up of my shoes from a previous post.

Outfit – Cotton On blazer; Alexander McQueen for Target t-shirt; Guess jeans; Marc Jacobs shoes; Rebecca Minkoff MAC & wrap bracelet; Wendy Brandes swear rings (seen here); Michael Kors watch; Coach sunnies; St. Christopher necklace from The Vatican

Note:  I recently found a pair of wedged sneaks on sale at Urban Outfitters by Ash (AND they are studded).  These are what I’m going to wear for most of my trip to Europe, and if they are comfy enough, I’m wearing them to the Rewind Festival.  Check them out below!

Snap Happy

Aren’t my fuchsia platform pumps FAB?

I discovered an addicting new app through the Minkette blog called Snapette.  If you recall my post on Pose (seen here), it’s basically the same type of photo app, but truly more dedicated to accessories.  I love this app because I can be anywhere, in any store and just snap my favorite accessories, in addition to snapping some that I already have from outfit posts.  And just like Pose, I can upload my “snaps” to my favorite forms of social media (in my case, Facebook and Twitter).

The Snapette Rebecca Minkoff contest ends today (contest was March 5-March 19), so you still have a chance to download this great app and enter.  In the meantime, I wanted to share some of the snaps I uploaded of my favorite accessories (a couple ended up in their “Hot” section).  Happy snapping!

More Rebecca Minkoff, and a preview of an upcoming outfit post (can you tell how much I love RM?)

Buckle Up

Thinking about meeting Alan Wilder this Saturday (see the original post here) has sparked my inner goth again, so I’ve been loving everything buckled, lace & laced, strappy, chained, zippered and studded.  It started with seeing the Dolce Vita for Target boots while shopping for necessities for my son, and the hunting went from there.  Now I’m trying to think of what to wear for my fateful meeting with Mr. Wilder, not necessarily for him, but how I want to remember my day in pictures.  I’m definitely steering away from wearing the concert/Depeche Mode shirt to the signing because I don’t want to be “that guy/girl” (PCU:  “What’s this? You’re wearing the shirt of the band you’re going to see? Don’t be that guy.“).

I’m sure my posts for the rest of this week will be infused with dark and gothic images as well as all things musical.  I’m so very excited for Saturday!  Not only will I get to meet a personal musical idol, but I’ll be surrounded by friends who were there to witness the lifelong fandom from day one until now.

Camel’s Back

The neutral that I will be using for my palette this season will be the color camel.  As I look through my fall magazines and roam all of my favorite sites, I find that the combinations with camel are endless.  With black, the look is sleek and classic.  With leopard print or a pop of color, the look becomes vibrant.  With some cool hardware or leather, I can slip in a little of my rocker chic.  Here are just a few of the looks that I love so far.  I’ll be posting more looks as I find them!

2.  Stella McCartney Knit Sweater Jacket – Neiman Marcus
