Shoe Dazed

I’m sure it’s been apparent that I’ve been doing quite a bit of shopping lately. I also recently joined Polyvore, so I created a set of some of the things that I’ve purchased (aside from the previously mentioned Juicy Couture venture). I seem to have amassed several pairs of shoes, including two pairs from Jeffrey Campbell.

If you are not familiar with Polyvore, it’s a site where the user can create “sets” and “collections” that can be shared with other Polyvore users, through social media places like Facebook, or they can be embedded in a blog, like I did here. I’m nowhere near being website savvy, so it took me a little while to figure out how to embed the image here, but I finally did. I hope you enjoy my first venture on Polyvore!

(Please note that I actually purchased the Naughty Monkey boots on Zappos.com.)

Very Grey & Lazy Saturday

It’s a bit cloudy today so I’m just at home with my son while my husband plays golf and my mom takes some time off from babysitting all week.  These kinds of days allow me to just play all day with my son, while doing a few chores in-between until the rest of my family ventures home.  It also allows me to do a little bit of on-line shopping and perusing through my magazines.  I just got my Urban Outfitters and Downeast Basics catalogs, a coupon from Bloomingdales and an email about Bona Drag’s newly updated website.  In addition, I still want a few things off of Lulus.com, so there’s plenty for me to look at around the web today.

Here are a few highlights I found, which seems to be heavy on black, white and grey (click on each picture for a link to the item).  Hope everyone is having a wonderfully lazy weekend as well!

Yin & Yang

The Oxfords I bought from Bona Drag by Jeffrey Campbell (seen here and here) got me thinking about things that are two-toned.  I’m all about color blocked and striped shirts, sweaters, dresses…you name it!  There is something so mod about the two-toned look.  Here are some things I found that are fabulously dual spirited, Yin & Yang if you will.  But one thing’s for sure, it’s not all just black and white.  (Click each picture for a link to the item)

Dolly Batts & Clobber at Bona Drag

(Translation:  Nice shoes and clothes at Bona Drag)

If you listen to Morrissey, you would recognize the name of this fantastic website from his album “Bona Drag” which is Polari for “Nice Outfit”.  I’ve featured this site before (here, here, and in my “Go Shopping!” section).  I dug in a little deeper and found so many favorite items.  Scroll down and I’m sure you’ll understand why I’m featuring them again (the black and bone Hathaway wedges by Jeffrey Campbell are to die for).

Added notes:    Heather Wojner, owner of this unique online boutique, is originally from Milwaukee, but currently hails from Encinitas (north of where I live in San Diego).  With my recent purchase, I received a very cool music compilation CD.  I asked Heather if she had any updates for folks out there about happenings on their site.  Her site is currently being redesigned and will launch in a couple of weeks.  I’ll miss the laser kitties that appear on the site now, but I’m looking forward to anything Bona Drag has to offer.
