Review: Extreme Coarse Micro-Mineral Rollers for the Emjoi Micro-Pedi

IMG_6720

Last year, I reviewed the Emjoi Micro-Pedi as I got my feet ready for summer sandals and strappy heels (post here).  Recently, I received an awesome add-on accessory: Extreme Coarse Micro-Mineral Rollers!  These rollers are amazing at smoothing out the roughest part of my feet, which are my heels and calluses that develop at the balls of my feet.  After working on those parts of my feet, I then switched to the regular rollers to completely smooth out my feet all over.  With the Micro-Pedi, I’ve got all I need to give myself a complete pedicure at home!

I also asked my sister to give me her thoughts on the Micro-Pedi, because I’ve been talking it up so much that she wanted to try it herself.  But to really test it out, she had her husband try it, and they’re so glad they did!

As I read the instructions on how to use the Micro-Pedi, I asked my husband if I can try it on him, since his feet are a little rougher than mine.  I told him that I had to wash and dry his feet first. He was willing and ready to! As I started using the Micro-Pedi on his feet it was very simple and easy to maneuver around.  When I finished with both of his feet, I definitely felt the smoothness of his skin. He even said, “Very smooth!”.  Once we were done, I read on how to clean the Micro-Pedi.  It is very easy to take the roller out with one push of a button, then cleaning it with the brush. Finally placing it back in was also easy and simple.  Overall the Micro-Pedi by Emjoi is a very simple little machine to use for both men and women.

Getting Pampered at French Nails & Spa at Sabre Springs Plaza!

I love getting pampered, but I love it even more when it’s at a great price!  Earlier this month, my sister and I found a lovely little nail spa tucked away on Poway Road.  It’s called French Nails & Spa at Sabre Springs Plaza, which just ten minutes from my sister’s condo in Rancho Bernardo (much to her delight).  It is a quaint salon, with cute details throughout, like the cosmic painted ceiling fan and opaque ceiling tiles with pictures of clouds and aquariums.  They have a whole menu of services, including acrylic nails, gel color, waxing, sugar waxing & facials and are open 7 days a week.  I had the manicure and spa pedicure for just $35, and my sister had the spa pedicure as a standalone service for just $23!

French Nails & Spa is located at Sabre Springs Plaza, 11385 & 11395 Poway Road, San Diego, CA 92128. They take walk-ins, but they can be reached at (858) 679-6729 for appointments as needed.

Cheers and have a great weekend!

Nail Week Continues: Nail Cones Review!

DSC04125 (2) (1280x1280)

I’m excited to continue “Nail Week” here on Any Second Now with one of two product reviews.  First up is a product called Nail Cones.  The concept is simple: polish your nails, not your skin!  Created by yet another mother and entrepreneur extraordinaire, Cindy Christman wanted to get away from the “Q-Tip” clean up process (you know, where you dip the swab in nail polish remover and hope to the beauty gods you don’t damage your manicure any further).  To combat this issue, Cindy came up with a sticker to surround the nail, where the nail polish would end up on the sticker and not your finger, resulting in a salon quality finish.

I followed the instructions as written on the package, and even watched the You Tube video to make sure I was doing it correctly (I started off with just three for purposes of this review).  The stickers are actually very easy to use and does provide a way to get a nice edge (really do tuck the sticker tightly under the tip of the nail for the best result).  Not bad for my first attempt, and I’m sure I’ll get better with more practice.  For the price point of $5.99 for 60 stickers, it’s a great way to get a clean finish to your home manicure!
