Stars & Stripes

I am trying very hard to embrace mixology through pattern mixing.  Sometimes I succeed, sometimes it’s a bit of a mess.  But after a couple of nice pointers from Kimi’s awesome post on her blog All The Fuss called “Power Clashing: I Do it Because I Can“, I thought I would try again.  I kept my patterns simple and in the same color family, as well as the accessories.

Below is my newest eBay acquisition.  I have been looking for my size in these very cute Poetic License shoe boots for a long time, and finally found them on eBay.  Although they are all black, there is subtle scallop detailing that make them beyond adorable.  The material is stretchy which makes them incredibly comfy for the height.  Most of all, they’re just so pretty!

Outfit – Charlotte Russe blouse; American Living blazer (JC Penney); H&M jeans; Rebecca Minkoff purse; Poetic License shoes; Bebe crown brooch; Coach sunglasses

  1. Poetic license are great for look & comfort. I love these boots here, they have a very romantic appeal. You look wonderful in that striped blazer, my favourite! Way to go with pattern mixing Cy! -xxoo

    1. Thank you Madison! I do love striped blazers, too. It’s a very mod look 🙂

  2. This is a timely post, as I have tackled the very same issue on my blog today. I am deeply afraid of clashing patterns. It think that you have done a beautiful job. So chic, yet with a bit of “edge”. Bravo:)

    1. Thank you so much Doreen! I checked your blog post out, and I think you did a great job, too! Pattern mixing is very difficult, and I love your “dueling stripes”. 🙂

  3. Cy, you are so gorgeous! I love this look on you – the shoes are so rocking! I just told Doreen that I had to fling off an outfit this morning because of my poor attempt at pattern mixing, but you pulled it off – lovely as always.
    Hugs,
    Christine
