Tulle & Tucker

When I took these pictures, I was still on the hunt for boots for the fall and winter, which would allow me to wear just about all of the dresses I’ve already worn with new boots and also lots of layers. As an example, I think this lighter dress and jacket together make for a great fall outfit because of the color combination.

Although I love these boots from Aldo that I purchased years ago, I wanted a more updated look. I found some great boots over the Thanksgiving holiday from Guess, Vince Camuto and Axxiom. I’ll be sure to post outfit pictures and share details on my great Black Friday deals!

A Bit of Berry

I’m in love with black and navy together, but I decided to brighten it up with my beautiful fuchsia colored Mini MAC. My husband took these pictures, and although the last shot is blurry, I like movement of it and the fact that the berry color really stands out.

The Rebecca Minkoff Sample Sale in LA This Weekend!

Alright kids, the Rebecca Minkoff Sample Sale has hit the West Coast! Faith in This Colour

I’ve always loved rich jewel colors like royal blue, my birthstone emerald green, deep purple and ruby red. I thought I was being clever: I wanted to enhance the houndstooth pattern buried in the plaid of the jacket by wearing a similar, but larger pattern on my tights. It worked in the subtle light of my room, but I’m not sure how I feel about it in the light of day. I think I’ll be sure to wear the pieces separately the next time, letting each pattern stand on it’s own. But I do love my new boots. I’ve worn them many times since I bought them. The wedged heel makes them comfy enough to wear anywhere, even concerts (seen here).

Despite my wardrobe missteps, my niece and son still love me and would be in every outfit shot if they could. My niece even said, “I always like it when you wear dresses, Auntie!”

Overflow

The weather has been fluctuating between cool and a little bit warm, so I’m also a bit in-between with my wardrobe as well. This shirt is a summer leftover, but I love the flow it creates with wide legged jeans. I think these will be great transition pieces as the climate cools. I can’t believe it’s already November! Where did the time go?

I had planned on wearing this outfit on Plaidurday. But after a couple of minor catastrophes at work (including a sink-hole right outside our office), the upper management deemed it a jeans day the following day. So I saved my tartan terrific dress for a regular business casual day. Oh, and I love these boots. They make any outfit edgy.

It’s Beginning to Look Like Sweater Weather

It’s finally starting to get cool enough to wear sweaters and boots. I’m very excited because I just got a new pair of boots that I’ll be sporting in future posts. In the meantime, I’ve paired these boots that I’ve worn before in a few outfit posts with one of my new favorite sweaters that I bought in Palm Springs. I love the stripes, the pockets, and how the boxy cut makes the sweater drape just so.
