Tulle & Tucker

When I took these pictures, I was still on the hunt for boots for the fall and winter, which would allow me to wear just about all of the dresses I’ve already worn with new boots and also lots of layers.  As an example, I think this lighter dress and jacket together make for a great fall outfit because of the color combination.

Although I love these boots from Aldo that I purchased years ago, I wanted a more updated look.  I found some great boots over the Thanksgiving holiday from Guess, Vince Camuto and Axxiom.  I’ll be sure to post outfit pictures and share details on my great Black Friday deals!

Holiday Gifts for $100 or Less

Holiday Gifts for under $100
Contrary to popular belief, I do not shop that often.  Well, I actually do, but I definitely do not spend as much money on my favorites as people think that I do.  My latest acquisitions have been under the $100 mark, including the most recent pairs of boots that I bought.  Here are items from my favorite brands and sites, with choices for right around $100.  I think these would make great gifts for your favorite fashionista this holiday, and it won’t hurt your pocket!

A Bit of Berry

I’m in love with black and navy together, but I decided to brighten it up with my beautiful fuchsia colored Mini MAC.  My husband took these pictures, and although the last shot is blurry, I like movement of it and the fact that the berry color really stands out.

The Rebecca Minkoff Sample Sale in LA This Weekend!

Alright kids, the Rebecca Minkoff Sample Sale has hit the West Coast!  If you missed entering the contest for the Mini MAC that I posted about at the beginning of November or didn’t get a chance to grab a deal at the Black Friday sale on the official site, you should head over to Confederacy in LA to take advantage of this great opportunity to get RM items at fantastic prices (if you’ve never been, it’s an adorable store with the nicest staff).  I went to the last one (post here), and wish I could have taken home more!  If time permits, I’m going to try to head up on Saturday.   For those of you further north, they also have a one day sale in San Francisco.  Click on the picture to take you to the Minkette blog for more details.  Have a great weekend and happy shopping!

Faith in This Colour

I’ve always loved rich jewel colors like royal blue, my birthstone emerald green, deep purple and ruby red.  Imagine my excitement when I received my new Mini MAC in fuchsia (check out the contrasting leopard print on the inside in olive-green & black)!   Be on the lookout for outfits featuring this little gem (preview below), and remember to enter the contest to win your own Mini MAC from Rebecca Minkoff by clicking here.  Have a Happy Thanksgiving and an even happier shopping day on Black Friday!

Mismatched

See our great wines and small batch bourbon selection.

I thought I was being clever: I wanted to enhance the houndstooth pattern buried in the plaid of the jacket by wearing a similar, but larger pattern on my tights. It worked in the subtle light of my room, but I’m not sure how I feel about it in the light of day. I think I’ll be sure to wear the pieces separately the next time, letting each pattern stand on it’s own. But I do love my new boots. I’ve worn them many times since I bought them. The wedged heel makes them comfy enough to wear anywhere, even concerts (seen here).

Despite my wardrobe missteps, my niece and son still love me and would be in every outfit shot if they could. My niece even said, “I always like it when you wear dresses, Auntie!”

Outfit – Bizz jacket (Forever 21); C. Graffiti tunic; Rampage boots; Target tights; bebe crown brooch; Vintage cameo; gifted necklace (from my cousin Regi); Rebecca Minkoff MAC purse; Michael Kors watch; Coach sunnies

Win Your Own Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC!

The folks from Rebecca Minkoff (one of my favorite designers), have asked me to extend an invitation to Any Second Now readers to join a very special contest: win a Mini MAC!  As you have seen in many of my outfit posts, I’m all about the MAC (Morning After Clutch).  Now is your opportunity to win a petite version of your very own!

What I love is that the Mini is just as stylish and functional as the larger version, with enough room to fit grab and go essentials.  The strap is still adjustable so it can be worn crossbody, doubled to be carried by hand or shoulder, or removed to go from casual to evening in a snap.

Throughout the month of November, Rebecca Minkoff will be running this Mini MAC giveaway to introduce the cutest addition to the Morning After family.  They will select 30 lucky Minkettes to win!

Click on the picture above for the link to the entry form.  Good luck and have a great weekend!

Overflow

The weather has been fluctuating between cool and a little bit warm, so I’m also a bit in-between with my wardrobe as well.  This shirt is a summer leftover, but I love the flow it creates with wide legged jeans.  I think these will be great transition pieces as the climate cools.  I can’t believe it’s already November!  Where did the time go?

(Do you like the longer tresses? Still deciding if I like my hair long or not…)

Outfit – Fossil shirt; Old Navy jeans; Jeffrey Campbell shoes; Rebecca Minkoff MAC purse; Coach sunnies; Michael Kors watch; Wendy Brandes ring; St. Christopher necklace from The Vatican

Room For Squares

Magazines for your kids to learn about the world.

I had planned on wearing this outfit on Plaidurday.  But after a couple of minor catastrophes at work (including a sink-hole right outside our office), the upper management deemed it a jeans day the following day.  So I saved my tartan terrific dress for a regular business casual day.  Oh, and I love these boots.  They make any outfit edgy.

Outfit – Candies dress; Mossimo sheer mock turtleneck; H&M cardigan; Breckelle’s boots (ModCloth); Target tights; Coach sunnies; Wendy Brandes ring; Rebecca Minkoff pouch

It’s Beginning to Look Like Sweater Weather

It’s finally starting to get cool enough to wear sweaters and boots.  I’m very excited because I just got a new pair of boots that I’ll be sporting in future posts.  In the meantime, I’ve paired these boots that I’ve worn before in a few outfit posts with one of my new favorite sweaters that I bought in Palm Springs.  I love the stripes, the pockets, and how the boxy cut makes the sweater drape just so.
