Simon & Refinery29 Present Style Festival at Brea Mall June 20

Join Simon and Refinery29 as they present Style Festival, a combination fashion music event at Brea Mall this weekend!

What:

Style Festival

An event that combines fashion, beauty and music in a fun festival type experience!

Style Stage: A shoppable “stage” of summer inspired trends curated by Refinery29 editors that feature select items from local boutiques and Brea Mall retailers.

Beauty Stage: Pop-up beauty bars featuring festival inspired hair-styling and a temporary tattoo parlor courtesy of Flash Tattoo.

DIY Stage: Guests can personalize custom band-inspired tour t-shirts as a keepsake souvenir of the experience!

Sound Stage: Guests will enjoy a musical performance by MS MR live in concert!

Love In Itself

Valentine’s Day is tomorrow, and those of us in the San Diego Style Bloggers community are showing how we do up the day. I saw a segment on Refinery 29 on how Aimee Song (of the blog Song of Style) styled boyfriend jeans (article here). She paired them with an oxblood colored tuxedo jacket, a simple t-shirt and fantastic heels. I took note and borrowed her style for something that I would wear for a quiet dinner out with my husband. I decided to add a bit more shine by layering rhinestone necklaces, but kept my edge with the studded clutch. Also, I must bring special attention to the beautiful lace-up pumps that I got over the weekend during the first day of the Prabal Gurung for Target collaboration. I don’t know what it is about shoes, but I fall in love with a new pair a few times a month, and I am completely enmoured with these lovelies. Hope everyone has a wonderful day tomorrow with their special someone!

The Next Big Style Blogger: My Contest Entry to Refinery 29!

I entered a contest for “The Next Big Style Blogger” on Refinery 29 (see the contest information here). I submitted the “Upcycle & DIY Chic” post as my contest entry because I believe that upcycling and DIY is becoming something fashionistas are looking more towards to make their wardrobe more creative and relevent to the importance of saving our environment.

Also, contestants were asked to add a 15 word personal style tagline. I wanted to create one that included the fact that I am a new mom who doesn’t want to forget that I can still be stylish and creative. Here is the tagline for my blog that I submitted. I think that’s going to be my new mantra for Any Second Now:
