Can You Give Me Directions to Mark Hamill Drive?

Not long after Comic-Con, Dominic and I attended a truly one-of-a-kind event: Mark Hamill’s street sign dedication! I heard about the event on KUSI News because news anchor Lisa Remillard mentioned she would be hosting the event. It was a hot day, which made it a tad bit rough on Dominic, but he stuck it out like a (Storm) trooper and we witnessed a cool bit of Star Wars history. For those of you who are wondering, “Why San Diego?” Mark Hamill spent some of his childhood in the Clairemont area, where the street sign is located.

We originally had a strange vantage point because we decided to grab some lunch nearby, which meant had lost some prime real estate where we would have had a better view. As a result, we had to stand in an awkward place behind the media staging area. Luckily for us, my cousin Regi and her son Riley had been in attendance and we moved closer to the action right near the actual stage. I’ve included a couple of videos below, which was Mark Hamill’s speech, the unveiling of the honorary street sign and declaration of July 30, 2017 as “Mark Hamill Day”.

The Latest From LEGOLAND® – The LEGO® STAR WARS™: THE FORCE AWAKENS Miniland Model Display

I’m sure you’ve heard by now that the longest LEGO^® STAR WARS™ Miniland model ever built was just unveiled last week at LEGOLAND® California. LEGOLAND® bloggers got a sneak peek at the media preview a couple of weeks ago. My sister and I brought the kids to partake in the fun!

Sarah Michelle-Gellar, best known for Buffy the Vampire Slayer but is currently the voice of Seventh Sister in Star Wars Rebels, was on hand to help the young guests “power up” the display with their light sabers!

The detail was simply amazing!

Have I mentioned my love for themed food? There was plenty of snacks on hand to feed the young Padawans!

I think Mei-Lin and Dominic had fun, don’t you?

KUSI’s Brandi Williams was on hand to interview Julie Estrada, Media Contact at LEGOLAND®

We then got to meet Brandi and she was so sweet! She took pictures with us and let the kids hold her KUSI microphone!

Imagine my surprise to see myself and the kids as part of the media kit that went out to everyone after the preview night!

Happy Halloween 2012!

I just wanted to wish all of you and your loved ones a very Happy Halloween! We took Dominic to The Pumpkin Station at Plaza Bonita Mall to begin the festivities. This was our first time bringing him to a pumpkin patch, and he had a lot of fun. I can’t believe that he’s already at that age where he can practically manage on his own. He even played a game and won a prize, without our help. My, how time flies!

Dominic also decided that he wanted to be another superhero this year, and his crime fighter of choice was Batman. My husband, Deon, will be The Joker and I will be Catwoman (we try to select a theme when possible). I promise I will post pictures of us all in an upcoming post. Have a safe night!

(The bonus picture below is from 2009 when we dressed Dominic up as a Wookie. As you can see, he wasn’t too keen on being one at the time. Now when we show it to him, he loves that we dressed him up as someone from Star Wars.)
