I took the above picture at The Hatch Shell on the Esplanade in Boston, back in June 23, 1990. Only now am I realizing the importance of being there. As a teen in the 80’s, the two songs below made me aware of who Nelson Mandela was, what he represented, and the protest against apartheid.
R.I.P Nelson Mandela: Revolutionary, politician, philanthropist and activist.
There are no words other than magnificent and incredible to describe this great man. A true leader and man of humility, even despite all of the (outrageous) adversity he faced. I am honoured to share the same birth date as him. xx/Madison
