Poshmark’s San Diego #PoshParty 2015!

Earlier this week, I posted that I went to two events in one evening, and this was the best way to close that night! A couple of years ago on my birthday, I attended my first #PoshParty given by Poshmark (original post here). If you are unfamiliar with Poshmark, it is an app where you can buy and sell fashion: either find people you share similar styles with and shop their closets, or sell from your very own closet! A lot of my blogger friends are on Poshmark, and three of them hosted this year’s party at the W Hotel Rooftop West: Paulina of Lil Bits of Chic, Vanessa of Vanessa Balli and Esmirna of Platforms for Breakfast.

When I attended Poshmark’s first party in San Diego, I was still getting to know my fellow bloggers and the San Diego Style Bloggers network. Since then, I’ve befriended so many of them, two who I got to know better that night: Laura of Laura Neuzeth and Alessandra of Alessandra Gonzalez. We had to commemorate the event by taking pictures together at the Pixster Photo Booth (pictures from the whole evening can be viewed at http://pixsterphotobooth.smugmug.com/Parties/Posh-Party/). I included the picture from the first PoshParty in 2013 with this year’s picture. I have to say, that I love them both together because it shows how much we’ve grown as friends! Not only did I hang out with one Topshop stylist, but TWO: Meet Alejandro, who works with Sierra!

I also met Mishael and her mom (who took the picture), who recognized me because she follows me on Instagram and is also a reader of this blog! The Loft Hair Design & Skin Care Grand Opening

At the beginning of June, I had a whirlwind night of TWO events in one evening! The first was the “Night of Beauty” grand opening of The Loft Hair Design & Skin Care in Carlsbad (first posted about here). This award winning salon was located in Escondido, but relocated and reopened in a 3,700 square foot space in the La Costa Town Square shopping center. The salon is large, spacious and beautifully decorated. They offer a very large variety of services including a full hair care salon, skin & body care, massage therapy, spa packages, facial treatments, peels and microdermabrasions.

The night was fun and extremely interactive, with experiences spread throughout the salon. From what I saw, there was a DJ, Braid & Brow Bars, Sensory Experiences (head, neck & shoulder massage or hot hand towel treatment), a massage chair, a “Tattoo” Station (decorative), wet bar, food, coffee and even shopping! It was also nice to know that 10% of the product sales and all of the raffle ticket sales benefitted Dress for Success San Diego. I’ve included lots of photos from the evening, and I was glad to get pictures of the beautiful salon prior to the public showing because it got crowded very quickly! Congratulations to Heather & Shawna on the grand re-opening of The Loft Hair Design & Skin Care at their new location in Carlsbad, cheers!

Kendall + Kylie for Topshop

Earlier this month, I got the chance to see the Kendall + Kylie for Topshop collection in a private setting with sips and sweets at Topshop in Fashion Valley, thanks to stylist Sierra! Although I couldn’t purchase anything (see why with my post here), it was fun to see the collection and try on that really great romper. Maybe my hubby will be sweet and buy it for me? Here’s hoping!

Socks & Sunnies: SPY x RicherPoorer

At the end of May, I was invited to preview an awesome collaboration between two great California companies: Spy Optic and RicherPoorer. Spy Optic was founded in 1994 and is the largest independent eyewear brand in the US, celebrating their 21st year in business this year. Their principal product is sunglasses, goggles and prescription frames, with it’s main headquarters based out of Carlsbad. RicherPoorer is a company out of San Juan Capistrano, and their main product are socks for men, women and childern (performance and fashion) in addition to men’s underwear. Their collaboration features Spy Optics Trancas and RicherPoorer socks in a fun polka-dot print.

“One of the things we often talk about here at Richer Poorer is elevating everyday products through quality and design, so having the opportunity to partner with a company like SPY who has a similar vision was a lot of fun,” says Tim Morse, President of Richer Poorer. “Like socks, sunglasses tell the story of your personality and mood. We’re happy to have partnered with SPY to create a piece that’s notonly fun and distinct aesthetically, but delivers on quality in every way.”

The launch party was held at Spy Optic’s Happy Camp, which is a fantastic combination of retail and entertainment space. Walking inside, you see the store front with all of their Spy products, ranging from sunglasses, goggles and prescription glasses to clothing and headphones. Further back, is a space suitable for dinner entertaining with tables and chairs, in addition to enclaves with sitting areas. The most impressive area is the back lot, which could easily house a small concert or festival, with a stage area and bleachers!

Soothe My Soul…and Body!

A couple of weeks ago, I was invited to a special VIP event to try an “on demand” massage app called Soothe, where you can now book massages from vetted and licensed 5-star massage therapists, here in San Diego! Since it involved checking out the app and getting a relaxing complementary chair massage, I invited my best pal Janice to join me. At the beginning of May, I attended the #VIPink Brunch at Westfield Mission Valley, where 100% of the proceeds benefitted the Bight Pink organization. Foodie Fever: Fresh Catch Fish Market & Grill

I’ve been to a few great places to eat recently, and I attended one of my first restaurant openings at the end of April. I went to the media preview prior to the grand opening of a new restaurant in the Hillcrest area called Fresh Catch Fish Market & Grill, along with Zach, my good friend and fellow food enthusiast.

The restaurant is quaint and casual, and our choices for the day were very visible upon entering, both on the board and in the refrigerated display case next to the register. There is such a wonderful variety of options to have your very fresh seafood served up: from tacos & burritos, to grilled in either a salad, sandwich or plated with rice and vegetables. I opted for one of the house specialties, which was the Crab Mac n Cheese, and Zach had the Ahi Tuna in a Cajun crust and soy glaze. The Crab Mac n Cheese was so creamy and had crab in every single bite. The Ahi Tuna was seasoned perfectly and was absolutely tasty. Zach and I had a great time and we each thoroughly enjoyed these amazingly fresh selections!

Thank you Delicious Buzz and Fresh Catch Fish Market & Grill for the invitation and I will definitely be back with my family and friends to enjoy the rest of the menu!
