Nail Art: Starry Night

Born Pretty has tons of great nail products, and I recently got to review quite a few new ones! I’m a big fan of good nail wraps because they’re so easy to apply and in most cases, you can have instant nail art in about an hour! These nail foil wraps based on Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” were so much fun, I wish my nails were a bit longer to capture the full effect!

I’ll be posting more reviews in the days to come as I try out more products, and I’ll even have my niece join in on the fun as well (she’ll be very excited)! Dried Flowers Nail Art

The folks at Born Pretty have sent me another lovely batch of fun nail products to play with, which my niece is just chomping at the bit to try as well. More and more lately, I’ve been experimenting with nail art, so I chose to review the Ubique Dried Flower Nail Art Design because I wanted something a little different to try, and it came with 12 different colors of flowers for only $4.86!

With the base color of “Pepperminty” by Ciaté London, I chose a turquoise colored flower to pair with it to make the color pop. Rather than use a whole spray of flowers on one nail, I cut up the flowers at the stem and placed them on the nail each ring finger. I then covered it with a clear coat. I really liked the effect, and now I want to experiment with more color and flower combinations in the near future.

I’ll definitely post pictures of the other nail products once I try them (the bottle of Sweet Color Nail Polish in Purple Glitter and the Artistic Music Note Nail Art Water Decals as seen in the above photo). Nail Art Galore at Born Pretty

I’m ending this week of nails with an awesome new site I was recently introduced to called Born Pretty. Anything you can think of related to nail art, polish, tools and care can be found on this site. Put to the Test: Maybelline Color Show Fashion Print Nail Stickers

Here is another product that I just had to try after I saw the pattern from afar: Maybelline’s Color Show Fashion Print Nail Stickers. The print is called Metal Prisms, and I bought them because they reminded me of the pyramid studs that I love so much. Being a fan of Sally Hansen’s Salon Effects nail strips (original post here) and after my friend Janice tried the Jamberry Nail Shields (post here), I was eager to try another easy to apply nail product. These nail stickers were definitely easy to apply: it took me only 30 minutes to apply both hands. My only worry was that they are not actual nail polish strips but simply stickers, so I added a top coat in the hopes of making them last longer. These nail stickers are meant to be used for a night out and were not meant to wear for longer than a day or two: I applied them on a Saturday and really tried to make them last until the following Saturday, but they barely made it. For the price point of $9.99 and because they are stunning, I would definitely wear them to a wedding, on a date with my hubby or a night out with the girls.
