You’ve Got Your Leather Boots On

In my hunt for what I wanted in a dress boot, I was looking for just a few things:  simple silhouette, leather, slight platform, and a stacked heel.  I got exactly what I was looking for with these awesome leather boots by Vince Camuto called “Laird”.  I first found them for close to the actual price (originally $210).  Out of all the boots I’ve looked at, it was a great price for what I was looking for.  But through some digging and a little patience, I found them for over half off through Bloomingdales.com.  They were already at a great discount for the holidays, but because I have a card there and receive lots of their deals through the mail, I was able to get these for a mere $108 (with free shipping).  I absolutely love them!

Outfit – Kling jacket (ModCloth); Juicy Couture dress ($20 at the outlet!); Bitten t-shirt; Vince Camuto boots; Vintage Fendi purse; Target tights

Holiday Gifts for $100 or Less

Holiday Gifts for under $100
Contrary to popular belief, I do not shop that often.  Well, I actually do, but I definitely do not spend as much money on my favorites as people think that I do.  My latest acquisitions have been under the $100 mark, including the most recent pairs of boots that I bought.  Here are items from my favorite brands and sites, with choices for right around $100.  I think these would make great gifts for your favorite fashionista this holiday, and it won’t hurt your pocket!

Look Cute While Staying Connected

I think it’s the glitter and shine that makes me love Juicy Couture’s new “Powered by Couture” line.   It’s just so much fun, and so useful.  I’m definitely going to get the glitter smart phone cover for my iPhone 3GS, and will probably get that gold case for when I upgrade to the 4S.  Oh, but what I really love is the blue leather gemlock iPad case.  I don’t have an iPad (yet), so I think that it would make for a great clutch until I get one, don’t you?  Happy Monday!

City Boho

I think this is as Bohemian as I get.  I bought this dress in the early stages of my pregnancy nearly three years ago.  I liked that it has an empire waist that has a bit of give.  When I was pregnant, I tried as much as possible to buy things that were not maternity clothes, so that I could wear them again.  The satchel purse and hat make me feel like I’m traveling somewhere.  But the shoes, I think they speak for themselves.

Outfit – Cute Options dress; Old Navy cardigan; Vintage brooch/pendant; Unknown brand hat; Michael Kors purse & watch; Juicy Couture ring & sunnies; Rocket Dog shoes (“Dappled in Glam” from ModCloth)

(With all that has happened in the world, I decided to take it easy with posts this week.  My thoughts and prayers go out to all who have lost.  Remember, no loss is any greater or less important than another.)

In The Navy

I’ve fallen in love with my new pair of navy blue suede Naughty Monkey boots that I bought recently on Zappos.com (seen here). It’s no surprise that I’ve worn them almost everyday since I bought them and even wore them shopping all day two Saturdays ago. The mid-heel makes them comfortable for walking and perfect for any outfit. I wore them with jeans and leggings for a few days, then decided to try them with my pretty little bird printed dress (last seen here). The navy blue color just makes them pop against anything I’ve worn, especially black.

Outfit: Erin Fetherston for Target jacket (seen here); Burberry sunglasses; Cotton On dress; Naughty Monkey boots; Zac Posen for Target belt; Kate Spade bag; Juicy Couture ring

Blue Velvet

My recent color obsession is navy blue. Since I bought that navy blue pea coat from Old Navy (seen here), I have been looking at everything ink and indigo. I can’t get enough of the almost-but-not-quite-black depth of the blue, which makes for such an incredibly subtle contrast when worn with black. I ventured so far as to buy blue boots (seen here).

My recent fabric obsessions are velvet and velour. I didn’t even realize it, but I bought four velvet or velour dresses. Velvet and velour can look incredibly cheap when done wrong. But when done right, there is a richness that can be brought out of any color, especially in jewel tones.

I went to Polyvore and made this little set, combining my current obsessions (including Polyvore itself). I own only the Juicy Couture and Mod Cloth dresses, everything else was used to create the set. Although, after seeing some of these other pieces that I picked to make this set, that may change!
